Car Theft: Receiver Arrested In Cotonou

The Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, in Ikeja, Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria, have arrested some robbery suspects who steal cars in Nigeria and take them to Cotonou, Benin Republic, for sale.

The confessional statements of the suspects led the police to arrest three female agents of the gang.

P.M.NEWS investigations revealed that the female agents of the robbery suspects led a team of policemen to Cotonou, were the receivers were also arrested.

The receivers identities were also revealed to P.M.NEWS as Tope and Alhaji who are both based in the Republic of Benin.

A police source disclosed to P.M.NEWS that items recovered from the suspects include three locally made double barrel guns, 25 live cartridges and an unregistered Toyota Carina car.

In a similarly, anti-robbery policemen attached to Shagamu Road Police Station in Ikorodu, a suburb of Lagos State have arrested a robbery suspect with one AK-47 magazine loaded with nine rounds of 7.62 mm calibre live ammunition, one locally made pistol and three masks in a hideout in Odonla area of Ikorodu while planning for an operation.

P.M.NEWS learnt that other members of the gang fled on sighting the police but the arrested suspect was not that lucky. He was taken to the station where he made useful statement to the police who have vowed to track down other members of the gang.

The Lagos State police image maker, Mr. Samuel Jinadu, a Deputy Suprintendent of Police, DSP, who confirmed the stories to P.M.NEWS said the state police command will do everything possible to make the state uninhabitant to men of the underworld.
