Residents of Ojokoro Local Council Development Area of Lagos State have described Dipo Babatunde Okeyomi as the only credible and transparent chairmanship aspirant on the platform of Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) for the forthcoming local government election.

They said the aspirant’s endorsement is based on the selfish interest and non-performance of the incumbent chairman, adding that Okeyomi is the best man for the job and one that has what it takes to take the council to an enviable height.

At a community forum, residents, community leaders, political chieftains, stakeholders, market men and women associations, youths and traditional rulers, among others, threw their weight behind the aspirant.

One of the stakeholders at the meeting, Alhaja Tinubu Adedeji a.k.a. Mama June 12, alleged that the present chairman did not do anything as promised, while they have been subjected to unnecessary agony and needed a change and that is Okeyomi a.k.a. Carry Go.

According to her, the aspirant is the only one that can put a stop to the suffering of the masses in the hands of council officials under the present chairman’s control.

She also accused the council boss of employing 120 people from Ijebu Ode, his home town, to the council secretariat without a single person from Ojokoro and therefore pleaded with the party’s leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to intervene and stop the purported imposition of the incumbent chairman.

Another party leader in the area, Elder Olawale Fakeye, said in the history of Ojokoro, the present government is bad as it has been insecurity, suffering and absence of dividends of democracy occasioned by bad roads and lack of drainage system, adding, “we don’t want the council chairman for a second term.”

A school teacher in the area, Mrs. Ogunleye, in her own contribution, implored ACN leaders, especially the national leader, to come to their aid by listening to their grievances and not allow the outgoing chairman to have a second term in office.
