Lagos Taskforce Arrests 29 Marijuana Sellers In Oshodi

Officials of the Lagos State Taskforce on Environment and Offences (Enforcement) Unit have swooped on Marijuana sellers and smokers in Oshodi area of Lagos, South West Nigeria and arrested 29 of them.

This is in a bid to rid the state of criminal elements in the face of growing insecurity in the country.

The taskforce officials, who were well armed, stormed Oshodi yesterday afternoon and swooped on Indian hemp dealers and impounded large quantities of the drugs and hauled them inside the Black Maria with the dealers.

The taskforce, which acted on a tip off, stormed the area and raided the hideout of the hemp dealers and smokers, while the ages of those arrested ranged between 14 and 39 years.

When contacted on phone, the Taskforce Chairman, Supol. Bayo Sulaiman, told P.M.NEWS that the taskforce would continue to clampdown on hemp smokers and sellers, saying that government would not be tired of getting rid of criminal elements from the society.

He said hoodlums and others wanted to return to make Oshodi what it used to be but noted that the government would not allow that to happen, adding that “we will continue to arrest them.”
