According to the governor, ”the security of life and property lie with the Federal Government which controls the security apparatus and which has the bulk of the revenue in the country even though we have spent over N200 million on security through the provision of patrol vehicles, communication gadgets, and provided necessary logistic support yet the main responsibility lies with the Federal Government.”

He added: “We shall not surrender to the criminals, we shall do everything humanly possible to restore the people’s confidence in the provision of security.”

On the nationwide insecurity, he replied: “I am not going to comment on security at the national level. This because am not an adviser to the president on security. We held a meeting over it yesterday and we reviewed it.

“My concern and responsibility for security is within my state and that is what we are about to meet over right now.”
