Five robbery suspects have confessed to the police in Lagos, Southwest Nigeria, that they murdered the Chief Imam of Bariga,.
The five-man gang, which allegedly specialises in stealing motorcycles and money, made the confession after they were apprehended by a police team led by S.P. Abbakyari recently.
According to him, the Imam struggled with them when they wanted to rape his daughter.
“I can’t remember the actual date, but we killed him because he struggled with us when we tried to rape his daughter,†the suspect said.
The leader of the gang, who made the confession said he regretted the action. He begged for forgiveness, adding that he would forever preach against evil if forgiven.
