According to a SARS source who pleaded anonymity, “these gang members were arrested based on a tip off by good citizens at different locations.

Among the armed robbers were Ramon Ganiyu, 23, an indigene of Ibadan, Oyo State who claimed to be a generator repairer.

According to him, “Hakeem, the buyer of our stolen goods, who resides in Ikorodu has since ran away.”

Another member of the gang Sanya Adetunji, 23, said: “I’m from Odogbolu, Ogun State, I’m the leader of the gang. We are 10 and six of us were arrested.”

“The first outing with thisgang fetched me N10,000 while the second fetched me N15,000 and two GSM handsets.

“After the last operation, we were unlucky as some of us were arrested, except my second-in-command, Riliwan, who has escaped. Though he is a small boy, he is a good product, that is why I made him my second-in-command.”

Another suspect who identified himself as Alex, 24, said: “I always keep the shot gun they use in their operations, I don’t go out with them, though they settle me fine. I was surprised when the police came to arrest me. I am calling on Almighty God to please spare my life. I promise to find something doing and I will stop being part of bad gangs. I promise not to go into robbery again. “I am using this medium to advise youths to stay out of crime and robbery.

Another member of the gang who identified himself as ‘Actor’, said: “I am not a robber, though they claimed that I keep the pistol they use in the operation.

“I am just 24 years old; though I don’t have a particular job, because if I have, they wouldn’t have arrested me with these people.

“The actor they call me is just my guy name; it is not my real name, but the name has put me in trouble. I regret having them as a friends, God should just spare my life.
