Epe Elders Oppose LG Chief's 2nd Term Bid

The Elders’ Forum in Epe Local Government Area of Lagos State, have reiterated its opposition to the second term bid of the chairman of the council, Mr. Olusegun Agbaje.

The group and representatives of Epe community had earlier sent two peitions to the leadership of the ruling party in the state, the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN).

In its latest letter to the party’s leaders signed by its chairman and secretary general, Chief S. Gberefun and Mr. T.A. Apena, respectively, the forum described the three years of Agbaje as the council chairman as a waste.

They accused him of dancing to the tune of his political godfather to the negligence of the entire local government, stating tha the major and link roads in the countil were neglected, while the drainages were filled with sand from erosion.

The group claimed primary schools in the council area are in dilapidated condition due to the neglect of the council.

The Epe Elders’ Forum sent copies of its letter to ACN national leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Babatunde Fashola, the member representing Epe Constituency in the state House of Assembly, Abiodun Tobun and the two prominent monarchs in the area, the Oloja of Epe, Oba Kamoru Ishola Animashaun and the Olu of Epe, Oba S.O. Adewale.

The group, while vowing not to return Agbaje to office, also accused him of deceit, non-performance and arrogance, among other vices.
