‘Nigeria Can’t Host Africa Games For Now’

Sports Minister and Chairman of the National Sports Commission, NSC, Alhaji Yussuf Suleiman has ruled out any chance of the country hosting the All Africa Games in the nearest future citing the appalling state of sporting infrastructure across the country and lack of a defined sports policy as the main reasons.

Suleiman said there is a need for drastic improvement in the state of sports facilities in major cities in the country before Nigeria can signify her intention to host the Pan Africa Games.

He, however, said he would make sure the Sports Ministry comes out with a sports policy that will bring the sporting facilities across the nation to world standard.

Meanwhile, the minister commended the government of Mozambique for a job well done for the world class facilities it put in place for the ongoing All Africa Games in Maputo, Mozambique.
