A 22-year old sales boy on Wednesday appeared before a Surulere Magistrates’ Court, Lagos for allegedly breaking into his employer’s store and stealing two cartons of beer and N350,000 cash. The accused. Tope Adefadi, is facing a two-count charge of burglary and stealing.
The prosecutor, Sergeant Raji Hakeem, told the court that the accused duplicated the keys to the store where the items were kept.
“It was when his boss, Mrs. Stella Lolo, took stock of the sales over some period of time that she discovered the theft,“ Hakeem said.
The prosecutor said that the offences contravened Sections 390 (9) and 411 (1) (2) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Lagos State.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges and the Senior Magistrate, Mrs. Aderemi Gbajumo, granted the accused N100,000 bail with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case till October 30 for further hearing.
