The mother of Ondo State Sports Council Chairman, Mrs. Cecilia Omogbehin, has been released by her abductors.

Narrating her ordeal to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Omogbehin said she was dropped by her abductors at Ilumeje road, Agbabu near Ore in Odigbo Local Government Area of the state.

“The kidnappers put me in between two men at the back seat of my car after tying my legs, hands, mouth and eyes and I was driven away to an unknown destination.

“I later found myself at a beach in mahin near Igbokoda where the boat that was taking us to Delta State had already been waiting for us,” she said.

She explained that she ate only bananas for six days based on her own request.

“I was allowed to have a discussion with my son, Bamido once.

“When I was told that I have been freed, I persuaded them to drop me in my house but they refused,” she said.

Speaking in an interview with NAN, Bamido, the sports council chairman, thanked well wishers for being with the family during their trying period.

“It was a really bitter experience because from the Monday night when my mother was kidnapped, I had little or no sleep.”

“I have been hearing various cases of kidnapping but I did not feel the impact, but now that I have felt the impact, it is a very bad experience.

“We are grateful to God,“ he said.

Bamido and his family were, however, silent on wether a ransom was paid or not before the release of their mother.
