‘Why We Adopt Aladeyelu’
Ojodu Agenda for Peace and Development, OAPD, has adopted Hon. Aladeyelu Azeez Adebayo, as its chairmanship candidate for Ojodu Local Council Development Area, Lagos, Southwest Nigeria, in the forthcoming local government polls.
OAPD is a grassroots and community political organisation, primarily formed to bring about peaceful co-existence among major political players in the LCDA, to ensure rapid development and economic stability within the council areas.
In a statement by its general secretary, Adeniji-Adele Adebola Jnr, the group stated that it adopted Aladeyelu as its preferred candidate at its general meeting held penultimate Sunday, based on the recommendations of the leadership of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN. “He has served as a councillor in the LCDA and impacted positively on the youths and women groups. As a councillor, he provided pipe borne water, GCE forms to indigent students, poverty alleviation and free health programmes among others.
“He’s well known to all in the community. A trusted politician, his care for the people propelled him to establish an NGO, Health Awareness and Gender Advocacy Initiatives, through which he has been assisting in creating awareness on Malaria and HIV/AIDS treatment,†he noted.
