Ogun State government says it is set to reintroduce Scouting into the school curriculum in order to impart values and morals to the youths.
Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, disclosed this in his office while receiving in audience the Chief Scout of Nigeria, Engineer Ahmodu Muhammed, who was on a courtesy visit to the governor.
According to the governor, youths in the country are gradually losing morals and values, a situation that has led to youth restiveness. He described the trend as worrisome.
“We would encourage our children to take to Scouting. Iâ€
He pointed out that government was determined to ensure that youths were gainfully employed, adding that youth restiveness could be attributed to idleness.
The Chief Scout of Nigeria, Engineer Mohammed, had earlier in his remarks advised the state government to reintroduce Scouting into public schoolsâ€
