The people of Sabo in Yaba Local Council Development Area of Lagos State have appealed to the authority of Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) Plc to restore power to the area, saying they have suffered enough in darkness.

Speaking on behalf of the residents, Niyi Omo King, told Lagos Bulletin that streets in the area including Aje, McNeil, McEwen, Industrial Avenue and Commercial Avenue, among others, have been in total darkness for over three weeks and all appeals to officials of the power company’s station in the area to resolve the problem have proved abortive.

He said by this development, commercial activities in the area have grounded to a halt as people are tired of buying fuel for their generators.

Omo King, who runs a printing outfit in Sabo, said he and others in the area are now out of business as a result of the power outage and therefore called on the power company to restore light to the area as a matter of urgency.
