The entire youths, market women, traditional rulers and political leaders in Ayobo-Ipaja Local Council Development Area of Lagos State have disassociated themselves from some malicious publications in some newspapers alleging imposition of Shakiru Yusuf as Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) chairmanship flag bearer for the area in the forthcoming local government election in the state.

This was contained in a press release signed by the National President of Ayobo Ipaja Youth Forum, Shadare Akanji Kayode James and made available to Lagos Bulletin on Tuesday.

According to James, “all the youths, chiefs, market women and political leaders of the ACN in the area are strongly behind Shakiru as he has perform creditably well and as such, should be reelected to continue his development strides in the area and has not been imposed on the people of the area by the governor of Osun State, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, as contained in one of the said publication.

“We want to state it unequivocally that the traditional rulers, chiefs, market men and women, CDC members and the entire youths are strongly in support of the candidature of Shakiru Yusuf as the ACN chairmanship flag bearer for Ayobo-Ipaja.

We also want to align with the publication of Friday, 9 September, 2011 in a popular evening newspaper, in which the immediate past president of Ipaja

Youths Forum, Abiola Jimoh, praised the leadership of the party for ensuring the emergence of an Ipaja indigene as the choice candidate for the coming council polls.”

The youth leader wondered why some people would want to pull down the hard working and selfless leaders in the name of politics and therefore called on all well-meaning residents of Alimosho Area to vote for Yusuf, who he described as the right candidate.
