A group, Yaba Youths For Good Governance, has reaffirmed its support for the second term bid of the Chairman of Yaba Local Council Development Area, LCDA, Hon. Abdul Raheem Olajide Jimoh.
The coordinator of the group, Olujobi Kayode, said his group is supporting Jimohâ€™s second term because of his numerous achievements and selfless service towards the development of the area.
Kayode said: â€œAs a progressive youth group, the Yaba Youths For Good Governance, with a bias for youth agenda, most respectfully submit that it will serve the best interest of the entire LCDA and Lagos State to provide quality leadership and continue to bring the dividends of democracy to the grassroots,â€ he stated.
He said Jimoh embarked on and completed projects, such as roads, primary schools, healthcare facilities, street lights, renovation of offices, purchase of office furniture and equipment, provision of official vehicles to both political office holders and management staff, security, poverty alleviation, empowerment and welfare of the people.
Most recently, the council boss embarked on poverty alleviation programme where he distributed materials to residents of the area like canoes and fishing materials to fishermen at the riverine community of Makoko.
Also, he, in order to ensure that security operatives discharge their duties satisfactorily, donated patrol vehicles, walky talkie, bulletproof jackets to police stations to combat crime in Yaba and its environs.
