Former Super Eagles’ Striker, Daniel Amokachi, has commended the Peoples’ Elephants, Enyimba Football Club of Aba, for their impressive run in this year’s CAF Champions League.
Amokachi made this commendation shortly after Enyimba’s 2-0 win over the Cotton Sport FC of Cameroon at the Aba International Stadium. He said the team’s clean sheet record in the CAF championship justifies the quality of the Nigerian League.
“I give the boys kudos for their good run in the CAF Champions League. This record has justified the quality of our league and the prowess of Nigerian football. The team should be focused on how to win the competition for the third time,†he said.
‘The Bull’, however, acknowledged the immeasurable support of the club’s chairman, Felix Anyansi Agwu, for his motivation and encouragement for the players, saying the team have one of the best club chairmen in the continent.
“Anyansi has been the secret of the team’s winning mentality. He has won the CAF Champions League two times and seen it all in the Nigerian and the continental football. He is the pillar behind the team,†Amokachi said.
