Policemen attached to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, Ikeja, Lagos, Southwest Nigeria, have arrested a robbery suspect.
The suspect led a team of policemen to his gang leader’s house.
On sighting the policemen, the gang leader was said to have opened fire to which the policemen responded and in the ensuing gun duel, he was shot dead.
Items recovered from him include a single barrel shotgun and five live catridges. The case has been transferred to the Lagos State Criminal Investigations Department, SCID, Panti Street, Yaba, Lagos.
In another development, a yet to be identified motorist hit a pedestrian identified as Chukuka, 22 along Isolo-Mushin Road, Isolo, Lagos. The victim died on the spot. Traffic policemen from Isolo Division visited the scene and took the corpse to mortuary.
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Samuel Jinadu, while confirming the story to P.M.NEWS advised motorists to drive carefully especially as we are in the ember months so as to avoid loss of lives on our roads.
