Liberation Movement, a pressure group in Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Area of Lagos State, has thrown its weight behind Toyin Ganiyu, an Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) chairmanship aspirant in the forthcoming local government election in the area.

The group, numbering about 5,000, also expressed determination to deliver the council for the party at the poll.

Its spokesperson, Miss Fausat Balogun, while addressing leaders of the party, urged eligible voters to troop out en masse and vote for the ACN chairmanship aspirant.

“It is our candid belief that Toyin Ganiyu is the only person that can stand the test of time for the betterment of the people Ibeju-Lekki,” Balogun stated.

She added that the indigenes and residents of the area want Ganiyu as chairman because “the time to build is now and it is only Ganiyu that can take Ibeju-Lekki to an enviable height.

The group implored all ACN leaders in the area to put in more effort to ensure victory for the aspirant, stressing that all hands must be on deck to mobilise residents for the election.

Responding, one of the leaders, Mr. Wasiu Oteniya, commended the efforts of the youths, saying that the people’s wish must be done.

“I can assure you that Ibeju-Lekki will not do anything contrary to your wish because united we stand, divided we fall,” Oteniya declared.

The group had earlier addressed residents of Lakowe, Abijo, Bogije, Awoyaya, Kajola and Oribanwa communities in the area, on the need to vote en masse for the candidate of their choice in the coming election.
