Youths of Oriade Local Council Development Area of Lagos State, have expressed dissatisfaction over the non-submission of the incumbent chairman, Ibrahim Tunde Sanusi’s name as chairmanship candidate for the forthcoming local government election in the state.

The youths who trooped out in a protest held on Tuesday at state House of Assembly, Alausa, Ikeja, described such move as an act of injustice that can jeopardise the unity of the party.

Speaking with Lagos Bulletin, leader of the group, Alhaji Saidi Yusuf, maintained that Sanusi has performed creditably well to deserve another term

According to him, “we learnt that Sanusi has been dropped as the chairmanship candidate and his name has been substituted with that of Moshood Badmus. This is a man that lost a relation during the last House of Assembly campaign just for the cause of our great party. It is laughable that a man that has performed beyond reasonable doubt could be dropped.”

Lagos Bulletin gathered that the youths have petitioned the state chapter of the party and the National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to wade into the issue.

The local government election is scheduled to take place on 22 October, 2011.
