The first speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Oladimeji Longe has added his voice to that of residents of Coker/Aguda LCDA, Lagos State, southwest, Nigeria, calling on the leadership of Action Congress of Nigeria ACN, to allow the peoples’ will to prevail.

“I have been mandated by the Aguda, Tanmeda, Aiyetoro, Sanya Residents’ Association (ATASRA), as well as the leadership of ACN in Surulere Constituency 2 to register our grievances to the leader of the party,” he stated.

“The voting population of this locality has unanimously selected Alhaji Giwa, the incumbent chairman to contest on the platform of ACN constituency 2, Surulere, but along the line, the community decision in that regard was suppressed and a woman candidate was given the party’s ticket.

“Furthermore, it was disclosed that the candidate now being imposed was the same candidate whose educational qualification was rejected by the electoral commission in the recent past national election, he added

Longer called on the party leaders to know that the coming local government election is not confined or limited to the party alone, as other political parties, such as APGA, PDP, Labour and others are also partaking in the election and that the party could lose the election if a candidate not acceptable to the people is fielded.

“I have called the attention of the party leaders to this anormally which may embarrass our party in the local government election in the state, he stated.
