Silver medal winner in the 4x400m of the All Africa Games in Maputo, Mozambique, Tobi Ogunmola, attributed his feat at the Maputo’s games to hard work and determination to make his nation’s proud, promising to always put smile son the faces of Nigerians.

Ogunmola said it has been his desire to put the nation on the top in the world of athletic. He added that the feat was remarkable for him, being his first major silverware and race in the senior category.

“I’m happy to achieve this at the level of All Africa Games because this is my first major race in the senior category. It is my aspiration to make Nigerians’ proud and happy,” he said.

He praised his coach for bringing out the best in him during the games, saying it is not easy to just graduated to the senior category and start winning medals if not for the technical prowess of his coach.

“I need to commend my coach for a job well done within a short period. I was in Canada few months ago for the World Junior Championships where I won silver medals. It is not easy to just join the senior category and start winning medals,” he said.

“I want to be part of the Team Nigeria at the 2012 London Olympics. That is my immediate plan. I also want to win medals at the Olympics and this means I have to start planning from now,” he said.
