The Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), Oyo State chapter has debunked the claim by former Governor of the state, Senator Rashidi Ladoja that the election of Governor Abiola Ajimobi was possible as a result of the contributions of the Accord Party (AP).
ACN, in a statement signed by its Publicity Secretary, Mathew Oyedokun and made available to P.M.NEWS, upheld that Ajimobiâ€
While emphasizing that Ladoja truly ran for the election and ran to win, ACN wondered why he could now be attributing to himself Ajimobiâ€
The party recalled the strenuous efforts made by some concerned individuals both within and outside the state to prevail on Ladoja to step down for Ajimobi and how it was rebuffed by the former governor, who claimed to have all the chances in the world to win the election.
According to the statement, “We recalled vividly how Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State visited Ladojaâ€
“While we rejoice with the former governor on the occasion of his birthday, we must, however, put the record straight so as not to allow the good people of Oyo State to be misled into taking an outright lie for a gospel truth.
“For the avoidance of doubt, Accord Party was never part of our victory; rather, it was made possible by God and the people of the stateâ€.
