Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, councillorship aspirant for Ward 8, Obalende, Hon. Jubril Sulaimon, has said that his grassroots experience and the passion to serve informed his intention to contest for the forthcoming election in order to change the face of the long-neglected Obalende for good.

Speaking with P.M.NEWS on his resolution to change Obalende if allowed to contest in the coming local government elections, Sulaimon said: “I was born 30 years ago in Obalende and I grew up here. I know where the shoes pinch the residents. I was a strong member of Alliance for Democracy, AD, from where I moved to Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN in 2003.

He said he has been a grassroots mobiliser in past elections which ensured that ACN won convincingly in Obalende/Ikoyi axis.

“In 2007, I scaled through the screening exercise, but my ticket was given to my opponent and I accepted it in good fate because I believe in party’s decision supremacy.

“Now that I am contesting and have scaled through the screening process again, I am appealing to our democratic, detribalised and liberal-minded National Leader of our great party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Jagaban of Bornu Kingdom, ACN leaders in Eti-Osa to give me the opportunity to serve the good people of Obalende,” he stated.
