Lagos State Ready To Partner With States For Meaningful Dev – SSG

The Secretary to the Lagos State Government, Mrs. Oluranti Adebule, has declared the readiness of the government to partner with any state in the Federation to bring improvement to the lives of all Nigerians.

Adebule made the declaration while receiving three Permanent Secretaries from Kano State on behalf of the State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola.

While commending the Kano State Government for recognising Lagos State as the foremost state in Nigeria, Adebule, however, used the occasion to implore the Federal Government to increase the monthly allocation to the state from the Federation Account to enable it to meet the myriad of challenges facing it as a one-time federal capital.

Earlier, the leader of the delegation, Alhajai Shuaibu Umar Yola, stated that they were in the state on the directive of the Kano State Governor, Alhaji Rabiu Kwankwaso, who wanted them to understudy the steady progress and achievements of Governor Fashola’s administration.

Yola, who is the Permanent Secretary, Manpower Development, Office of Kano State Head of Service, said further that the Kano Government was interested in partnering with the Lagos State Government in key areas of capacity building of the state work force, Transportation Management, Environmental Sanitation and Internally Generated Revenue.

He specifically requested for resource persons from Lagos State for the proposed EXCO retreat, adding that both Kano and Lagos States have a lot in common in areas of population density and commercial activities.

Other members of the delegation are Alhaji Nasidi Abdullahi, Permanent Secretary, Cabinet Office and Alhaji Shuaibu Rolso, Director, Manpower Development.
