Guinea Tie: Siasia In Selection Headache

One thing that bothers Chief Coach of Nigeria’s Super Eagles ahead of their crucial Nations Cup qualifier against Guinea is not how to win the match, but which of the players to choose for the encounter billed for 2pm on 8 October in Abuja.

Speaking on Brila F.M early today, assistant coach of the team, Dutchman Simon Kalika, revealed that the handlers of the Eagles are battling with selection worries, saying that their concerns border on the attack and the defence.

He said: “We are in a situation which many coaches can only dream of and funny enough, it is giving us a lot sleepless nights. We are yet to determine what form of attacking option to adopt for the match as Nigeria are so blessed with talented players. Currently, we have more players to choose for two attacking positions available.” Kalika said the defence is another area they are still battling to sort out before the crucial tie, adding that who to pair with Joseph Yobo at the heart of the defence and the right full back is giving them grey hairs.
