Automobile Award Set For Nov

The Nigerian Guild of Motoring Correspondents (GMC) has announced plans to hold the 2011 edition of its annual Nigerian Auto Awards in November at the Sheraton Hotels, Ikeja, Lagos.

The event is aimed at promoting and rewarding excellence in the Nigerian automotive industry and other allied services sectors.

Speaking on the award, Mr. Daniels Ekugo, Secretary of the Guild of Motoring Correspondents (GMC), said, “The Nigerian Auto Awards is based on extensive industry and customer survey. The awards committee has spent the past six months researching and surveying the awards recipients. Key criteria for the awards include quality, quantity, customer support and after sales services.”

Mr. Ekugo said there will be a number of activities leading to the awards ceremony and gala night. These, he said, include seminars, symposia and courtesy visits to industry regulators. He announced the central theme of this year’s award to be “Promoting Excellence and Encouraging Safety”, while declaring that winners in all categories would have delivered very high quality products and services to make it to the awards podium.
