Christ Embassy Holds Campaign
The Christ Embassy church is holding the fifth edition of Reach Out Nigeria, an annual campaign to commemorate Nigeria’s Independence anniversary and share free copies of its daily devotional, Rhapsody of Realities.
The Pastor Chris Oyakhilome-led congregation also uses the campaign “to kindle the fire of patriotism in the citizens and restore hope in the future of the countryâ€.
In the last four years, the Reach Out Nigeria Foundation of Christ Embassy organised campaigns where millions of free copies Rhapsody of Realities were distrited to Nigerians on 1 October, Nigeria’s Independence anniversary day.
This year, the foundation plans to distribute five million free copies of the devotional in Lagos alone.
Last weekend in Lagos, the foundation organised a media launch tagged: Reach Out Nigeria 2011-A New Hope, to herald the year’s edition of the campaign.
Dignitaries including His Royal Highness, Oba Oluyide Akinyemi, Onifo of Ifo Land; Managing Director of the Lagos State Waste Management Agency, LAWMA, Mr. Ola Oresanya; celebrated motivational speaker, Fela Durotoye, as well as zonal pastors of Christ Embassy, graced the occasion.
The ceremony was spiced with comedy and musical performances by gospel star, Buchi, and some up-and-coming gospel acts.
In a speech, Pastor Lanre Alabi, chairman of the Reach Out campaign urged Nigerians to believe in the country and make positive contributions to its development.
“Celebrate the hope of the glorious future that lies ahead. If we all make the right and proper investment in our today, we will all reap the harvest of a more prosperous tomorrow.
“Make projections and proffer solutions to current challenges while positioning yourself and the nation for a greater tomorrow. Our hope of a better tomorrow is in itself worth celebrating,†Alabi charged.
The cleric said the devotional, Rhapsody of Realities, does more than its mission of taking the gospel of Christ to the ends of the earth.
