Independence Special Shows: Victor Olaiya , Others Mount Stage
Evil genius of highlife and ace trumpeter, Dr. Victor Abimbola Olaiya (OON), will tomorrow stage a special show in commemoration of Nigeria’s 51st Independence anniversary.

The octogenarian, whose band was chosen to play at the state ball when Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom visited Nigeria in 1956 and later played at the state balls when Nigeria became independent in 1960 and a republic in 1963, is expected to be joined on stage by his children, Bayode, Bidemi, Biodun and Toba, a female guitarist, during the show.
The event, which holds at the ageless Stadium Hotel, Surulere, Lagos, will also feature guest artistes including veteran juju musician, Chief S.F. Olowookere, Stephen More a.k.a. Young Orlando and some comedians.
