President of the Nigerian Taekwondo Federation, Jonathan Nnaji, has commended the nation’s taekwondoists at the recently concluded All Africa Games in Maputo, Mozambique.

Nnaji said the taekwondoists deserve kudos for their doggedness and commitment to the national call. He lamented that Nigerian athletes were victims of electronic score board at the games.

“I think our athletes deserve commendation from us. They did their best to win gold medals for the country, but fell victims of electronic scoreboard. They lost vital points to the electronic score board,” he said.

He, however, admitted that the team fell short of the nation’s expectations winning just two gold and two silver at the games.

Nnaji said federation and the athletes would use the experience gathered at the event to prepare for next year’s London Olympic.
