PDP Vows To Dislodge ACN, Releases LG Candidates’ List

The Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has released the list of its candidates for election into the 20 Local Government and 37 Local Council Development Areas in the state.

The election has been slated for 22 October, 2011 by the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission, LASIEC.

According to the State Publicity Secretary of the party, Comrade Taofik Gani, “the present list finally emerged after due democratic process observed by the representatives of LASIEC. As a national party, we have again shown to ACN how to manage dissenting interests to produce acceptable democratic results.”

Comrade Gani, however, appealed to those who were not picked at the primaries to understand that in a contest, there will always be a winner and a looser.

He admonished its members to always be steadfast with the party and not indulge in anti-party activities.

He reiterated the decision of the party to contest election into 37 LCDAs, adding that their involvement in the LCDA election is another doctrine of necessity in their political decision.

“Our Party has received several calls from Lagosians who now know the truth about good governance. They have been so deprived of dividend of Democracy, especially at the local government level. The federal allocation to the councils far surpasses the development we are seeing.

“They cried to us, being the only viable alternative to the ACN government. We are thus indeed participating in election into all the 57 LCDAs to answer the cry of deprived Lagosians. The ACN will experience unimaginable defeat in the forthcoming Election,” he said.
