Red-hot Macauley Chrisantus scored a hat-trick for his German second division club Friday night to knock harder on the door of Nigeria’s U-23 Eagles and their handler Austin Eguavoen ahead of the Olympic qualifying tournament in Egypt later in the year.

MTNFootball.com reports that the former Golden Eaglets’ scoring sensation netted a second-half treble as FSV Frankfurt won 3-1 at Alemannia Aachen, who paraded former Eagles defender Seyi Olajengbesi.

Chrisantus hit target on the 53rd, 69th and 86th minutes to take his goals tally for the season to five in six appearances.

After only their second win of the season, his German club are now 11th on the table with 11 points from 10 matches.

Olajengbesi’s Aachen are rock bottom of the 18-team Bundesliga 2 with four points after 10 rounds of matches.

The striker, who is on loan from Bundesliga side SV Hamburg, could not make his Dream Team debut against Ghana in an All-Africa Games qualifier in Benin City, Edo State as a result of a bout of malaria.

He is now expected to be called up for the team’s final build-up for the 2012 Olympic qualifying tournament in Egypt from 26 November.
