Shun Violence, ACN Chieftain Urges Electorate

Chief Wale Olowole, a chieftain of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, in Somolu Local Government Area, Lagos State, southwest Nigeria, has called on the electorate in the council area to shun any act capable of causing political crisis during and after the forthcoming council election.

He urged supporters of political parties contesting in the local council poll to eschew violence and keep the peace, even in the face of adversity.

The ACN chieftain added that the performance of the incumbent chairman, Mr. Omogbolahan Bagostowe was what spurred them to support his return bid.

The party leadership stated this during the flag-off of Bagostowe’s campaign this morningin Somolu.

Olowole said the development Bagostowe has brought to the council has made history in the council. “Construction of roads, drainage channels and rehabilitation of dilapidated schools, poverty alleviation programmes and many other developments stand him out.”

He added: “He has not disappointed us in terms of infrastruture and socio-economic development. Bagostowe has been able to bring the government closer to the people. That is why we are giving support to his second term bid.”
