Taxi Drivers Decry Poor State Of FG Roads
As the nation celebrates her 51st independence anniversary, chieftains of the Lagos State Association of Taxi Drivers and Cab Operators, have called on the Federal Government to pay attention to the deplorable state of Federal roads in the state.
The association said if the state government could rehabilitate federal roads, the federal government should also swing into action, so as to make human and vehicular movement easier
Prince Tajudeen Adetoro, the association’s General Secretary, commended Lagos state government on road rehabilitation, especially the federal roads and called on the federal government to do the same.
He said, ““The federal government should stop putting Nigerians’ lives in danger. Most of the federal roads, for example, Apapa/Oshodi Expressway, Ikorodu/Shagamu Road are a disgrace; so also are many federal roads across the country.â€
Adetoro urged the Jonathan administration to save Nigerians from untimely death.
The spokesperson of the association, Al-Rasheed Inamiyu, also appealed to governments at all levels to pay more attention to the welfare of Nigerians.
According to him, “much needs to be done in the area good roads, electricity, health services and education. It is when all these are provided that Nigerians can truly say they are Nigerians.â€
Inamiyu also called on the Federal Government to make efforts to reduce unemployment, poverty and other socio-economic problems facing the country
