I Will Appoint Religious Leaders As Special Advisers —Amosun
Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun has challenged religious and traditional rulers in the state to offer quality advice to his administration for the collective success of the government.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the governor on Media and Communication, Mrs Funmi Wakama and made available to our correspondent in Abeokuta.
The governor made the remark at a church service to usher in the 2011/2012 Legal Year at the St. Peters Cathedral Church, Ake, Abeokuta.
He said he was ready to appoint a religious leader as a Special Adviser because he valued their honest counsel.
Amosun said: “let me again say that we are committed to serving the people of this state and we know that we are not an island of knowledge. We welcome advice from all our religious leaders as well as natural leaders. As I promised during the campaign, I will always cherish their advice because they are very close to the people.
“I know our religious leaders are very truthful and sincere. We knew before we got to government that the situation was bad, but we didn’t know it was this terrible. We won’t complain again about it but we know we will face it with the support of our people. We need all the selfless counsel from our religious leaders.
“I believe we can do it. We cannot perform miracles within the time we got here, but we will surpass the expectation of our people,†Amosun noted.
Earlier in his sermon, the Bishop of Egba Anglican Diocese, Right Reverend Emmanuel Adekunle, called on the governor to ensure that he embarked on people-oriented programmes.
He noted that it was only by doing so that the ovation that heralded the victory of the government would be sustained.
The bishop called the attention of the governor to the porous security in the state, stressing that “we should not allow these people that were sent out of Lagos to come and settle down here.â€
