The Lagos State House of Assembly on Tuesday passed a resolution approving Mr Segun Abiru as the acting Clerk of the House.

Abiru was the Director of Finance and Administration (DFA) of the Assembly.

Speaking during the resumed sitting of the assembly after six weeks’ recess, Mr Mudashiru Obasa (ACN, Agege 1), observed that resolution became necessary since the former Clerk, Mr Taiwo Olatunji, had retired.

He said that it was proper, going by the laws of the House for a resolution to be passed approving acting Clerk, pending the appointment of a substantive Clerk.
