PWF Cup: Dynamite Coach Shocked Over Team’s Exit
Dynamite Chief Coach, Charles Ibeh, has expressed shock over his team’s early exit from the ongoing PWF Cup. The team failed to go beyond the first round of the championship.
The ambition of Dynamite FC to go beyond the first round was not achieved on Tuesday as they suffered 1-2 defeat against Junior United in an encounter played at the Ikeja Cantonment Sports Centre, Lagos.
Ibeh, who spoke to P.M.Sports after the match, said he was disappointed that his team was defeated by the unfancied Junior United. He argued that their opponents did not deserve the victory and blamed their defeat on bad luck
“Honestly, I’m surprised that we did not go beyond the first round. We prepared hard for this competition but unfortunately we were unlucky to lose the match. We will go back home and start training for future competition,†he said.
Asked if their opponents can go far in the tournament, Ibeh said Junior United can only achieve this if they improve on their last performance.
Ibeh said Junior United’s first game against his team was not impressive, noting that the team need extra work to win the Cup.
Commenting, Junior United Coach, Tetede Olawale, praised his team for their impressive performance against Dynamite. He said what he saw in their opening match indicated that the team have what it takes to go far in the tournament.
“We are underdogs in this competition but winning our first game has given us confidence that we can go far in this tournament. Our opponents underrated us and they paid dearly for it,†he said.
