Africa Cup Of Nations Qualifers: Will Super Eagles Scale Guinea Hurdle In Abuja?
The Super Eagles of Nigeria will face Syli Nationale of Guniea in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match at the Abuja National Stadium tomorrow. The Eagles must win the cracker convincingly to secure the ticket to play in the tournament which will be hosted by Gabon and Equatorial Guniea next year. BIMBO AJAYI, BAMIDELE OLOWOSAGBA and EMMANUEL OSODI sought the opinions of soccer loving Nigerians about their expectations in the all-important tie
Peter Lamai-Boxer:Â The Super Eagles will win the match because they are well prepared for it. We will beat Guinea if get our act together. I trust our boys to carry the day and I know they will not perform below expectations when they meet the Guineans knowing how crucial the match is to the country.
Uchenna Duru-Karate coach: Nigeria would win the match because the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, has increased the players’ match allowance. You know that we like money in Nigeria. I heard that their match allowance has been increased to $10,000. I know they are going to win because of the increment in the match allowance.
Joseph Omu-Athlete: I want to appeal to the Super Eagles coach to allow Vincent Enyeama to play because we conceded too many goals in the last game that he did not play. I wish he would play against Guinea because it is a must-win match for Nigeria.
Mrs. Elizabeth Banjoko-Trader: The Guineans are our wives and we are going to beat them on Saturday. This would not be the first time of beating them. We have been beating them since the time we played our home games at the National Stadium in Lagos. I do not see them causing any upset because they are our children.
Alice Henry-Karateka: My prayer is for Nigeria to win the match because Nigeria is my country. As an athlete who represented the country at the last All Africa Games I want to advise the players to train very well so that they will not disappoint Nigerians and in turn fail to qualify for the 2012 African Nations Cup.
Mrs. Balogun ‘Mama B’-Business woman: Nigeria is a good foot balling nation and I do not see the Guineans beating us on Saturday. Our players know how crucial the match is to them and the country. They cannot afford to lose the match.
Ernest Iwunna-Basketballer: Nigeria will win the match by beating Guinea 2-0 on Saturday. The Eagles’ camp is bombarded with foreign professionals and I know that these players are capable of messing up the Guineans. I believe we are going to beat Guinea and in turn qualify for the African Cup of Nations next year.
Femi Ayewumi-Student: Nigeria will surely carry the day on Saturday considering the calibre of players that Coach Samson Siasia will parade against the Guineans. We also thank God that there are no hitches in the camp at the moment. I believe Nigeria is going to win the match.
Joshua Onipede-Footballer:Â Nigeria has good players that will beat the Guineans on Saturday. We also have a good coach handling the team in the person of Samson Siasia. I have faith in the team that they will beat Guinea. All they need is the support of Nigerians and I pray they get enough support that day.
Felix Onoyanse-Athletics coach: We are going to win the match considering the calibre of players that we have. We would beat them 3-0 because we have players that can do it. The Guineans can not match the skills of our players.
Oluseun Alade Onasanya-Football Analyst: Nigeria will win the match and eventually qualify for the African tourney but they will have to be careful of antics of the Guinea players. They might want to play counter attacking football because they know they can’t match us man to man.
Omotola.O.Ogunbiyi-Caterer: I advise the coach to tell the players to go for early goals and avoid costly mistakes at the back. If we can do that, I don’t see how the Syli Stars will not be defeated on Saturday by God’s grace.
Seun Koyejo-Business Networking Executive: Looking into my crystal ball I can only see us coming out victorious after the match on Saturday. My advice is for our defence to be water tight. I mean we should avoid conceding goals and as long as we can do that, there is no way our strikers will not register some goals. We will beat Guinea tomorrow, mark my words.
Banky Adesanya-Human Resources Officer: There is no two ways to it, the Super Eagles will beat the Syli Stars silly on Saturday. My advice to the handlers of the team is to adopt Barcelona’s attacking style in the front line. That is 4-3-3 formation. That way, we would be able to make them to be at the receiving end of incursions from our strikers. There is no way they will be able to survive and at the end of the day, we will be the victorious side.
Otunba Ogini-Trado Medical Practitioner: We are going to win the match whether the Guineans like it or not. The Nigerian players are determined and they are ready to be part of the Nations Cup next year. I don’t see us losing in front of the dignitaries that will be in attendance on Saturday.
