Man Arraigned Over N2m Theft
A 27-year old suspect, Usman Abdullahi has been arraigned before an Ikeja Magistrate’s court sitting at Abule-Egba, Lagos southwest Nigeria for allegedly stealing properties worth N2, 225, 000
Usman reportedly stole one gas cooker valued N75, 000, six boxes of clothes valued N950, 000, one box of head ties valued N450, 000, box of shoe valued N250, 000, and four cartons of broken plates valued N500, 000.
He allegedly committed the offencein company of others who are now at large at 7a Ayopeju Oludayo Close, Labak Estate, Abule-Egba, Lagos.
The accused allegedly burgled the building between May and July, 2011 before he was arrested by the police.
He is facing trial on a two-count charge of stealing and conspiracy, an offence which according to the prosecutor, Inspector Lugard Ahonle contravened Section 516(A) and 390(9), Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2003.
Count one reads: “that you Usman Abdullahi and others at large on or between the month of May and July, 2011 at 7a Ayopeju Oludayo close Labak Estate, Abule-Egba in Ikeja Judicial District did conspire with themselves to commit felony to wit stealing and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 516(A) of the Criminal Code, Cap.17, Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2003â€
