Might Is Right Bout: Okedara Battle Ready For Ghana’s Kwardey

National Super Middleweight champion, Mojeed Okedara, is fully ready to slug it out with Ghana’s Eric Kwardey at the coming Might Is Right Boxing Tourney slated for 23 October at the Blue Roof of the Lagos Television premises.

The boxing tourney, sanctioned by the Universal Boxing Council, is packaged by Freels And Threels in conjunction with the Lagos Television.

The 28-year old Okedara who will be featuring in the main bout of the show told Boxing In Focus that he will outpunch his opponent to win the title.

“I do not see Kwardey beating me even though he is a good boxer. I have trained hard for this bout and I am in a very great shape. I am going to beat him because I am more skillful and stronger than him. I, therefore, promise Nigerians nothing but victory in the bout,” said the Oyo State-born boxer.

Okedara, who defeated Okoro Chukwudi with a technical knockout last July to clinch the National Super Middleweight title, expressed appreciation to Osun State governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, for supporting him as he aspires to become a world champion.

“I appreciate Governor Rauf Aregbesola for believing in my dream of becoming a world champion. He has been supporting me and giving me every thing that I need to achieve my goal. I will make sure I do not disappoint him and my teeming fans by giving them the world title,” said Okedara.

Aside from the main bout of the show, eight other boxers will trade punches in supporting bouts in different categories.

The National Light Welterweight champion, Sunday Ajayi, will defed his title defence against Sadiq Ahmed in a 12-round bout while Akeem Dodo will stand toe to toe with Sule Olagbade in an 8-round National Welterweight challenge.

Saheed Olayiwola will slug it out with Kazeem Ariyo in an 8-round National Light Welterweight challenge while Ghana-based Kazeem Owoiya will exchange punches with Nureni Alabi in a 6-round Super Bantamweight challenge.
