Part-time student at the University of Ibadan, UI, Nofisat Salam, has insituted a divorce suit against her husband, Mr. Waheed Lawal at the Agege Grade “A†customary Court.
Nofisat who claimed that Waheed was her manfriend some years back said their relationship was blessed with a baby boy, Akeem Lawal, now two years and three months old.
She told the court that Waheed, a building materials seller has refused to take care of the boy. She therefore requested for a monthly allowance of N10,000, aside payment of the boy’s school fees.
In his defence said he had been taking care of the boy and paying his medical bills. He appealed to the court that he could only afford N4000 monthly as Akeem’s maintenance allowance as he is jobless for now. He asked the plantiff to withdraw the boy from a private school since he cannot afford the fees and should be taken to a public school instead.
He alleged that his mother had been going out with another man and she is not ready to take care of the boy.
