Church Of The Lord Aladura Holds Sports Day

The maiden sports day of the Church of the Lord Aladura, Anthony Village, Lagos was held at the church premises last Sunday.

The event organised to give members of the church the opportunity to express themselves through sporting activities, saw Isaac House winning the first position while Abraham House and Jacob House winning second and third positions respectively.

The chairman of the occasion, Reverend Adebiyi, told members of the church to begin preparation for the next edition now as the sports fiesta will be an annual event.

“I enjoin the entire members of the church to start preparations for the next edition of this sporting event. I also appeal to members to participate more in subsequent events because it is a programme that strengthens love and unity among church members,” said Adebiyi.

Commenting on the event, the secretary of the church, Deacon Banjo Olusegun, said sporting events will be encouraged in the church.

“Activities like this should be encouraged in all churches in order to promote a new atmosphere of worship which in the long run will bring the body of Christ together and erase the division which is common in today’s churches,” said Olusegun.
