Doherty Seeks Support For Toba Oke

Incumbent Chairman of Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government Area, Hon. Demola Doherty has called on residents of the area to troop out en masse on 22 October, and vote for Dr. Oloruntoba Oke, the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) chairmanship candidate in the local government election.

Doherty, who made this plea at a programme to formally present Dr. Oke to the people of Ifako-Ijaiye, appealed to all his supporters to vote for the ACN candidate “because we are one”.

The Ifako-Ijaiye council chairman said at the ceremony tagged ‘Change of Baton’, that ‘the party has decided and as a loyal party man, I have to abide by the decision of the party. Our leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has asked me to follow Oke hand in hand to campaign all over Ifako-Ijaiye and that is what I intend to do.

“There is no acrimony between us, we are one, what we are doing here today is merely a change of baton. It is the same administration and we are going to work together to give Ifako-Ijaiye a face-lift.”

All the leaders of the ACN in Ifako-Ijaiye, including the chairman of the party in the area, Hon. Kayode Fadayomi were present at the ceremony.

In his speech, the ACN chairmanship candidate for Ifako-Ijaiye, Dr. Oke thanked the incumbent chairman for his support and promised to sustain his programme to develop Ifako-Ijaiye,. He appealed to residents to vote massively for ACN candidates in the coming elections.

“ACN in Ifako-Ijaiye is one.” There is no division whatsoever. Please vote for me and all ACN councillors in the local council polls and you will not regret doing so,” he stated.
