Standard of Balogun Cup Excites Organisers

Afo Football Organisataion has expressed satisfaction with the organisation, officiating and standard of the Balogun Cup which kicked off two weeks ago on Lagos Island.

PRO of the organisation, Olubodun Savage, told P.M.Sports that the competition has attracted many spectators, saying that the tourney has lived up to expectations in terms of the organisation and standard.

“I am very pleased with the quality of teams that registered for the competition. They have exhibited good sportsmanship since the competition started. I think we need to commend them for that. I also appeal to the fans to continue supporting the tourney,” he said.

Match coordinator, Afolabi Onanaike, warned trouble makers to shun violence that can tarnish the image of the competition, saying that he will not spare anybody that causes trouble during the competition.

Commenting on the officiating, Onanaike popularly known as AfO praised the officials for a job well done, saying that since the tourney started, no team has complained about officiating. He said they painstakingly selected good referees for the competition.

“So far so good, we are pleased with the officiataing.Most of the teams that crashed out commended the officiating. We do not rest on our oars but make sure that all the teams enjoy fair officiating,” he said.

In the matches played so far, Pola FC humbled Salvador FC 5-0, Ola’s FC lost 0-2 to Phase 3\4 FC, Talented Builders defeated Allah’s Will FC 1-0, while Baba Roje beat Jokas Strikers 3-0.

Action continue on Saturday when Dynamics FC will play Pavillion FC, Joker Star will battle Soccer Talented while Alli Balogun FC will confront Chino FC in the last match of the day. All the matches will hold at Epetedo High School, Ebute Elefun, Lagos Island.
