Sunshine Stars of Akure have declared their readiness to take on Club Africaine of Tunisia, when in the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup at the Dipo Dina International Stadium, Ijebu Ode, Ogun State tomorrow.
Chief coach of the team, Gbenga Ogunbote, said they are not scared of facing the Tunisian side, as his team are battle ready for the challenge of the North African side.
Ogunbote still relishing his wards’ heroic qualification for the semifinals, added that Sunshine are capable of taking on any foe in the course of the competition.
“At this stage of the competition one should normally expect tough games. We are left at the moment with teams who can contest for the trophy.”
“Having gone this far successfully, I don’t think there is any team that can edge us out of the competition.
“Club Africain are a tough side but we are equal to the task. If they can defeat Kaduna United right here on our home soil I see no reason why they will not want to repeat such feat against us. Hence we are ready for them and we will not disappoint Nigerians,†Ogunbote said.
