The Adamawa State chapter of Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, said on Sunday in Yola that it has appointed Alhaji Dalailu Ala as its acting chairman.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by the party’s state Publicity Secretary, Mr Matthias Yohanna, a copy of which was made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
The party said Ala’s appointment as acting chairman followed the resignation of Alhaji Mohammed Abdullahi as the state party chairman.
The statement said Abdullahi’s resignation as well as Ala’s appointment were approved by the party’s state working committee at its meetings held on 11 October and 14 October respectively.
It disclosed that Abdullahi resigned based on personal considerations.
“He (Abdullahi) has also assured the party that he will continue to be a member and work for the success of the party,†it said.
The statement called on the party’s supporters to give the acting chairman the necessary support, pending the election of a substantive chairman.
“We hereby call on our party members and the teeming supporters to give Ala the necessary co-operation for the success of the party, pending the election of a substantive chairman, †it said.
