We Are Here To Win Again —Nina’s Coach

Coach and boyfriend of the women double’s defending champion, Pedro Perreira, has expressed confidence in his player, Nina Bratchikova of Russia, to defend her title in this year’s edition of the Governor’s Cup going on at the Lagos Tennis Club, Onikan.

Perreira said his mission to Nigeria is to ensure that hislove girl defend the trophy she won last year. He added that they have been working hard to ensure that she sets a new record in the history of the tourney.

“We are just starting the game. We are looking forward to the second round game. I want everyone to understand that we are here to win again. We are not leaving anything to chance, we are here to set record in the tourney,” he said.

Perreria could not hide his feeling about the people of Lagos, Nigeria, praising fans for their warm reception.

He also lauded the Local Organising Committee, LOC, for creating a conducive atmosphere for the players to excel at the tourney.

“I like everything about the country. The fans are great, very friendly. I wish not to leave the city after the tourney. I like the way the participants are playing the games so far. The organiser is really trying hard to satisfy us,” he said.
