3 Wheelers Call For Peaceful LG Polls

The Three Wheelers Beneficiaries and Operators Association of Nigeria have called on all Lagosians to avoid violence during Saturday’s Local government election and embrace politics of unity and harmony.

In its election orientation campaign among its several thousands of members in Lagos, the association led by its chairman, Comrade Moses Buhari, said it was necessary to warn his members to be careful and resist being turned into an instrument of violence.

Addressing the mammoth crowd of members in Lagos, the chairman implored all registered tricycle operators in the state to go out en mass on Saturday and vote for candidates of their choice.

Comrade Buhari said: “Saturday’s election is vital to every Lagosian, so ensure that you go out to vote because your vote counts. You should also be able to defend your vote without any iota of violence.

“I am appealing to you members of the Three Wheelers Association to avoid any form of provocation when exercising your civic right, but do not be intimidated into losing your voting right, use every legal means,” the chairman advised.

Comrade Buhari disclosed that as law abiding citizens, members of his association had always complied with the laws of the land, and would always cooperate with the government of Lagos State, because they are very impressed with the performance of Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola.

Asked whether his members registered to vote during elections, the professional transporter said his association could boast of 90 percent of Nigerians who live up to their civic responsibilities, adding that they were well oriented during the voters registration exercise.
