Camry Steals The Show

When the gates of Eagle Square were thrown open for the 13th edition of the annual Abuja International Motor Show, one noticeable feature of the exhibition is the presence of the ‘big boys’ in the automotive sub-sector of the nation’s economy, which showcased new and already popular products.

Predictably, Toyota Nigeria’s determination to dominate the show as usual, with its large dome-shaped pavilion, fair transactions, and display of an array of vehicles spanning nearly the whole spectrum of auto segments.

These include compact and large sedans, sports utility vehicles, multi-purpose family cars, pick-ups and buses among others, while the new generation Camry, latest Corolla and Land Cruiser took centre stage.

The 2012 Toyota Camry is one hi-tech car worth its price. It is a midsize sedan, powered by a 2.5 litre four cylinder engine.

The 2011 edition was the best-selling car in the United States last year, so the new edition is expected to retain that title.

The 2012 edition is one of the most awaited cars this year due to its great performance and style as well as the fact that it is manufactured by one of the best and leading car brands in the world. Once again, Toyota’s fresh attempts at upgrading its new Camry luxury sedan like this new face for the upwardly-mobile young executive, irrespective of gender or age, had shoppers stunned.

At first sight, the front detailing shows an attempt to express an actual design language, with crisp lines and neat headlight clusters.

It even looks like the beginning of an attempt by Toyota to move away from its traditional anonymous styling to something that actually expresses a design language.

In Nigeria, the Toyota brand is imported principally by Toyota Nigeria Limited and distributed by eight accredited dealers across the country. The dealers are Elizade, Metropolitan, Kojo, Globe, Mandilas, Germaine and RT Briscoe Plc.
