Governor’s Cup 1st Leg:Roelofse, Vekic Qualify For Finals

South African boy, Ruan Roelofse advanced to the final of Men’s Singles of the Governor’s Cup Lagos Tennis Championship after beating Indian Vijayant Malik.Roelofse had a smooth ride over Malik in two straight sets of 6-4, 6-4 in the semi final tie played at the Lagos Lawn Tennis Club, Onikan on Friday.The South African, who is the number 4 seed of the Etisalat/FCMB sponsored tennis circuit will now face Yuki Bhambri of India in Sunday’s final of the first leg. Bhambri defeated Ante Pavic of Croatia in the semi final game.In the Women’s Singles, Donna Vekic of Croatia upset top seed Nina Bratchikova in two straight sets of 6-3, 6-2 to set up a final clash with Ukraine’s Elina Svitolina wo defeated Anna Floris of Italy in 6-4, 1-6, 6-3 semi final game
