UBC Bout: Okedara Eyes World Boxing Title
National Super Middleweight champion, Mojeed Okedara, has declared that his desire is to have a shot at the world title.
The Osun State-born pugilist made the declaration after he defeated Ghana’s Eric Kwardey at the Universal Boxing Council, UBC’s Might Is Right Boxing Tourney held yesterday at the Blue Roof, LTV premises, Ikeja, Lagos.
“I have just won a title fight tonight but my aim at the moment is to become a world champion. It has always been my desire to go for a world title and I know this will not be a pipe dream because I live a focused life,†said Okedara.
The boxer added that he knew he would win the much publicised bout, though his opponent was also a good boxer.
“I feel great winning this bout. I know that I would win because Kwardey is no match for me. He is a good boxer anyway but I am far better than him. That was why he threw in the towel in the fourth round,†said the Nigerian hitman.
